Workforce Readiness

Living out Faith Through Career Technical Education

Promoting Workforce Readiness for our Community and Beyond

Appomattox Christian Academy is proud to announce an exciting expansion of our educational programs and facilities. Beginning with an accredited welding program, ACA is working with leading local employers, suppliers, and educators to design courses which will prepare students for immediate high-quality employment after graduation.

Our Mission

It is our mission to create career pathways for students, making them workforce-ready by working alongside local employers in their fields of training. To provide learning opportunities in realistic environments for adolescents and adults so they can become financially independent, productive members of their communities.

Living our Vocation

God calls us to build up a society which reflects his love. By living out our faith through our vocations or callings, we choose to use the gifts bestowed directly from God. We intend that each student become a model employee, and model citizen.

Designed with the Employer in Mind

By modeling classes and projects together with our partners, we develop a moving pipeline of current trade skills more correctly fitting the actual needs of the employers in our region.

Designed With the Appropriate Connecting Courses

It’s impossible to be ready to meet the future if you cannot “measure” up to the basics! We expect our students to accompany classes such as drafting or metrology with some trades. We purposely build safety, core job ethics, and job readiness into our courses.

Partnering With Our Neighbors

By sharing skills, time, and needs, we can offer courses where real life experience with an employer becomes part of the coursework. Students experience clinical time through our medical program, fabrication time, and even build real homes for veterans in need.
